For the Orphek users, how much do you lose with the UV models. I know the UV diodes take over some of the whites. Or do the UV diodes also act as light source for the corals.

I have the first generation body and hardware upgraded with the 2nd generation LEDs and optics. Yes, the tank was built locally here in CT.

The upgrade to 2nd generation is impressive in the blue... If I might ask, what was your solution to the controller... My understanding was that the interfaces were different. Or did that matter?

I recently switched from 250w MH to all LED.

Here's my Elos 70 under an AI Sol Blue, a pair of Nanotuner's 12K Par38 spots, and a pair of Sunbrite actinic Par38 spots. All are 12" from the surface.

I plan on purchasing Acan LEDS for my 240 gallon SPS tank. I currently run 250w MH with Radium bulbs. If interested I will keep you posted.

I know color is a preference, I'm trying to decide if I want a 14K look versus 20K...I do like the "bluer" look, but I also dont want to artificially blue...what do people think?

Anyone on here running the apollo lights? seems like a really good product considering you can buy them under $400 per fixture and 1 fixture will typically light 2 ft of tank on your standard AGA style tank (i.e. a 6' 180G would use 3 fixtures).

i bought 2 of the apollo's 20k. i like them. my tank & room temp dropped considerably since i replaced 2 of my 400 hqi ballasts i actually bought them for a smaller tank i may set up but they do look real good. right side lighting is
400 halide
