Chris, sorry for late reply. this is my first red gonioporas, not sure may be september 2011. i think red gonioporas need medium light and random flow. i never feed coral food to my tank.
my tank size: 150x60x60cm but the water maybe only 50cm height.

little up date after change my led power supply unit (PSU) from 24volt dc to 55volt dc.
FTS feb 2012, doughnut, trachy start bleach... red gonio i think to much light with this new set up.

Well I think it's looking great. Do you think that the color difference could be in part to higher par fro LED or is it just the way MH effects coral?

I got a red goniopora no. Have had it about a month and so far expanding well. I placed it in good random flow and at perimeter of LED light where it is bright but not too bright. If anything I find my color look better when I place corals lower or turn down the LEDs. At least that's been true for most my SPS so far.
