What is this one called? Crazy colors!!

It's called TPE's, as in twon's pe's, they tend to have white faces adn green skirts, but colors change on them constantly. I've had them over a year and I maybe have added two polyps in that time. They just dont like growing.

here is when they looked their best, more than a year ago.

That is freaky twon!
That is a big change.
What do you think caused them to change?

the top pic was under a 15k coralvue bulb that was probably closer to 25k, and a blue+t5, so i think the overload of blue brought that about. the middle pic was when they first went into the 180 under 400w 20k, and vho actinics. I think it is a combination of appearence and lighting, and possibly flow, I didn't have the greatest flow in the top pic. the bottom ones have mad flow, constant current.

Rev, your TPE looks amazing.

mine are on the right in this picture. and is what they look like currently. they have a splotchy center with white, lime green, and a tiny bit of light pink splattered all over the polyp like someone through cans of paint on it. and the skirt is a light lime green along with a lime green slit mouth. i think i've grown 2 polyps since december. as i sarted with 3, and am up to 5 now.

I've have some that look kinda like this but I can't seem to get a good pic of it.
Here's one recent attempt.
Its not blue at all, its just the camera. But you can see the pinkish speckles like Twon's.

Even though they looked prettier in the first pic, they look so much healthier in the next two.
Maybe it was just a very long transformation period combined with the lighting and flow combo?

Whatever the case, they're sweet.;)

I have/had (can't locate them at the moment...) some like your TPE's, but they colored the opposite. They started like your final pics and ended liek your first pics (under 250E DE 10K AB's...). I like the darker color better (your end pics)... Really cool zoas:).

please tell me you are going to upgrade your lights to something other than 10k AB's lol ;) your zoas will thank you a ton!

Oh yeah. I can't wait, actually. I have it in budget for the November time frame (unless I can forego some other purchase and work in new bulbs). I'm not sure what I'm going to go with because I run VHO's, too, and like the neon display after MH go out. The 14K Phoenix was too blue with VHO's and I don't know anyone that knows anything about the Helios 12K (and it throughs out even more par than the 10K AB's). The 120 will be more of an LPS/zoa tank, so I'm running (2)-175W probably AB 10K (all reports say SE 10 AB's are more blue...) and VHO's. That should be a bit bluer than the yellow ray storm they get from the current set up.
