Lets see those clams!

im looking to get a squamosa clam just doing some research. do all clams have to be on the sand? can i glue a clam to a rock like a cutting of a frag or will it grip to what it wants. i have a perfect spot in my 90 gal. tank probobly 6 in. from the bottom on a flat rock that im eyeing up. im running 7 vhos soon to be 5 hos and 2 t5s. suggestions?

Here's my Derasa that I got from Todd @ Cherry Corals. Its done well, came back from pinched mantle (at least thats what I thought it was from researching on RC).

here is a recent pic of my clam today. just took it today. 1/27/09. my last picture was taken about 2 months ago. he grew about an inch since then. crazy fast grower!
