Lets see those naked clowns!

I hope so, as I really prefer the sedan to the 5 door, I have heard that the evo require lots of service and that the subaru's are good for 150,000 miles. Also just personal preference

Different strokes...I like the naked clowns myself. I would take them over snowflakes any day.

I would have to agree that 1. Most fully naked clowns are rather dull and are very much like goldfish without their most prominent feature, the stripes and 2. most of them are so inbred that they often have deformed faces, mouths, gills and fins. I really don't like them without bars but I was given this naked clown with just one bar and I think it is way cooler than the goldfish clowns most people are aiming for.

Different strokes... Again with the 'Goldfish Clown' comments, every single person who has seen my clowns in person comments on them. Mine are very bold colors and are not deformed... Don't hate just because they are different!

I fail to see the similarities ;)

I agree

I was looking at them today and in one tank their was a single stripe like yours and in the next another naked that looked like it had a deformed gill but with only one stripe on its left side, very unusual looking

Come on, look at that face! That is not normal. It's starting to look more like a blood parrot cichlid than a clownfish.

My daughter has a pair of blood parrots in a freshwater tank and loves them but they dont look at all like my naked clowns.
The color is the only difference between my black clowns and nakeds.

I think that they look really not that weird. The thing is, if you told a kid that was Nemo they would think you would be lying. It has no white stripe....not even a clown in my book.....

Me too. And they sure do look like clown fish to me. Especially when you see them in person. No goldfish does the awesome clown fish butt wiggle.

But I guess its all preference and opinion. I find the less looking clown fish to be the "tomato clown". I guess they are cute, but the body is too round and the fins too light for me to think "clownfish!" right off the bat. Although they are a different species so they deserve a break.

I think you are delusional if you think that clown is not deformed.

Seconded.

That's not to say they're not good clowns or good pets...my male is pretty badly deformed and he's a run of the mill ocellaris.

I think part of why the nakeds look so ridiculously deformed is the lack of stripes throws off the eye and changes the way your brain sees the body shape. That and the inbreeding.

The first time I saw a juvi Tomato clown that still had three stripes I freaked, it made the body look so much more like the clowns in the percula complex, but after taking a second look it sure enough had the Tomato body shape.

so if naked clowns are considered sw goldfish, then tomato clowns are sw discus :) but not as thin of course!
