Just got the 500D and had to try it out...

This is quite possibly the most skittish tang I've ever seen.

I've now ordered extension tubes to get even closer.

Not sure if these qualify as "Peek-a-boo" so much as "Oops... I shouldn't be in this shot" pictures, hopefully it's not a violotion of the spirit of this post...

So, while attempting to catch a shot of some blue and yellow zoanthids under actinics the otherwise camera-elusive yellow wrasse swoops through the frame

Setting up a shot and testing levels to get a nice shot of this colony of calcerous red feather dusters, then the red scooter pops up from behind the rock and almost looks to be apologizing for the intrusion

WOW Sinistar!

Beautiful shot and fish. Nice work!

(Is that an Orange Spot Blenny or something else?)

Thanks

It is a Yasha Hase goby. He has made a home behind the zoo colony. He sticks his head out when he thinks its feeding time:p

thanks Gene-
they are beautiful clams, but when the flash hits them... wow! that last clam-- sometimes the underneath of the mantle shows when the current hits it- and it's even more colorful than when the flash lights em up. almost electric looking.
