heres an older shot of my derasa. Took the picture through a hazy piece of acrylic.

what would cause the coloration on my ultra colored crocea to get duller? cant find any snails and have no nippers. it looked like patricks 2nd pic when i got it and now looks more like billrobs 7th pic. :( its been on my sand bed as it would no attach to my rocks and the incurrent valve seemed to be gaping. when i moved it to the sand bed it didnt move anymore and with a couple days attached to the glass. i though it was happy but seems to have lost some color.

yea i guess, but in my case thats a good reference, from a side shot it went from a distinctive gold inner mantle to a more bland almost non existent gold.

heres a pic of what it used to look like.........you can see all three there minus the new derasa, ill try to get a new pic from the same angle tonight.

im also noticing that from the same angle, the maxima transitioned to almost a purple color. am i going crazy? is it a lighting issue?

it's the angle that you view the clam from... at my LFS there's a clam that's a nice green top down... but deep blue when viewed from the side

No, people are mis understanding me in these thrreads when i saw the colors have changed. I am aware that the colors change when viewed from different angles.....i have had clams for a couple years. what im saying is that i took a pic of the tank with the clams from the same angle, clams didnt move, and the maxima seemed to have transitioned from a teal to a more purple. from the top though its still green.

is it a lighting issue im having? could it be the temp fluctuations ive had recently with these colder temps?
