What do you guys use to protect them from jumping out of the tank? I currently have eggcrate.... Read about a mesh on a diff thread.

Eggcrate is often useless to stop wrasses from jumping...get the 1/4" mesh/netting

You can get clear mesh from BRS. Get screen door framing from Home Depot and cut it down to fit your top and use the mesh.

Would the eggcrate work on the 5" male lineatus and 4 3/4" labouti I have in QT.? I don't see how they could possibly fit thru the holes.

My biggest issue with eggcrate other than it won't contain smaller fish is that it's hard, my wrasses bounce off the netting daily and eggcrate would be hard on those little heads. If it's nessasary temporarily then it's better than nothing but I'd definitely switch over ASAP.

Once you have many wrasses they tend to chase, especially the not so nice ones like my marjorie. She loves to harass some flashers.

beautiful wrasse as always guys!
anyone seen any johnsoni lately?

I see two everyday. :lol2: Unfortunately, the female has changed to male and every evening is a slugfest between the two. If things don't settle down, I may have to re-home one of them.

Anyone have an opinion whether adding another couple of cirrhilabrus wrasses, perhaps of the johnsoni complex, to give the dominant male something else to grab his attention when he is feeling frisky? Right now, I have a large male cf lanceolatus, but the johnsoni doesn't dare mess with that bruiser. Maybe a couple of females would help?

Acesq, possibly a c. Lunatus. Wholesale has them at the moment for a decent price.
If you decide to sell the johnsoni, please hit me up. I'd be interested in him.

I'm surprised even in that size tank they can't coexist given your other wrasses to calm his aggression.

Nice, how long have you had the cyanoguttatus? Thats not one you see too often and the few I have seen make it to the states have all perished pretty quickly.
