Let's see your rare wrasses!!!!

they are soo cool!

Brad, I measured mine at ~2.75". Still pretty small but im super stoaked to watch him grow and develop more colors... Im going to try to take lots of pics so I can watch his progression.

I just finished taking more pictures Ryan. It's good to get them while they are being acclimated, much easier to photo. They are really nice, the colors are amazing.

He seems much more at ease today and has already devoured a bunch of hikari mysis

Hey guys how are you finding your bells doing? mine is eating really well but is rather secretive, the Jonsoni are out front all the time though :)

Great shots Brad. They are so cool.

there is very little information about bellae availble because there are so few specimines in aquaria. If you look on the net there is only 1 picture other than the few that have appeared since PIA just brought these in. There are more pictures of bellae's in this thread than i found on the net after hours of searching!

Watson- mine is doing great and is out swimming with the 7 other wrasses i currently have in QT. It is eating pellets, brine and mysis very well and has an excellent temperment!

Im sure when yours settles in it will be just fine.

We just received a pair of Rhomboids and a harem of Flame Wrasses from PIA. Fish arrived in great shape. Here are a few photos after they came out of quarantine.

Yea mine eats like a pig I had a laboutes and girdled in the tank and they hassled him for the first two days and he went hiding I took those guys out and he is out more and more now.

The Male Johnsoni ate out of my hand today :)

Just got my box of goodies in from PIA, still in the box waiting to be released. Everyone is eating like a pig. All should be ready for release tonight! I'll put up some more pics then.

beautiful photos everyone.

gorgeous bell's flasher wrasse!

not much info online. they're found in marshall islands and i believe, have a range extension and is found also in Palau or some other micronesian islands (if i'm not wrong).

it replaces filamentosus in the marshall islands. that means that in the whole of filamentosus's range, marshall islands do not have them and is replaced by bellae. and that's why they're so similar. i think charles darwin could probably lend a lesson or two on allopatric speciation.

how long does everyone like to leave the new additions in the acclimation box?
the bellae is amazing. i wonder how they will fair with the larger fairy wrasse? im personally waiting if i can ever find a red sea eight line and i may make him my only flasher.
