lets set up the beach dive.

LoL 10 foot is a monster wave for a diver. I've had hard time entering a 3 feet of wave. alot of storms in winter for south facing beachs. also vis isn't good in winter too. Had anyone dive off of Refugio State park beach? this place is also nice. No wave is bigger than your anckles. I get sea sick alot. I even threw up underwater feeding fish around me hehe : ) I get sick when my body temp drops.

Sunday please...
I’ve done a few night dives on bad surge days… + the rocky beach… Not fun

Sunday Feb 11 is good for me conditions permitting anything with vis 10 feet or over but only if it is an early dive and by early I mean before noon. I will be the camera man for the day

sunday 7am is a bit too early.....

wow... didn't know we had alot of divers in club lol....
I've heard Crystal Cove is good I meant to dive this place but I haven't yet. Anyone dove a Crystal Cove? I dig for Crystal cove on same day. Early is better normally no surges in the morning. Had anyone dove in point dum in Zumma beach in the afternoon? I got picked up by rescue boat(jetski) got sweap away from a afternoon surge. Unless if anyone would like to try out Chrismas Tree in PV. (some hiking required with your heavy gear)

In the water by 8:00 would be fine with me. It would probably be better to meet at a shopping center or fast food restaurant parking lot the parking around Shaws is really bad especially on weekends plus we could leave some vehicles and carpool if need be. I have been diving at Crystal cove many many times and am very familiar with it I have dove all over Laguna and know most other dive spots well. Crystal Cove has a lot to see and is a very good area for underwater hunting and photography. The one drawback to this is to get to the beach you have to hike down from the parking lot but it is not too bad I have a cart that we can shuttle weight belts and tanks down a ramp to the beach and also it is very vulnerable to most incoming swells so the surf has to be really small or visibility and conditions will suffer I have been out at crystal cove entered the water with small 2-3' surf and visibility at 10-15 feet but within 30 minutes the surf had gone to over 5' and the visibility decreased to less than 10' we had to crawl out of the water to keep from getting knocked down. I am down for diving any area in Laguna but would suggest staying away from Shaws cove since it is an area frequented by classes on weekends Woods Cove would be good also.

I'm down with Shaggy. Since he has dove many times in CC, he can lead us in the water. I've Yukon XL large truck to take some people with me from the parking but, wouldn't want to dirty my truck with sand and a water inside. If anyone has a pick up truck, we could put all our gear in his and i can transport people in my truck. How many tanks are we doing? at least two? I have a riffe spear gun anyone else a hunter? I can take few people from OC area if anyone live near by

i can get my dads old pickup truck, but cant secure anything in it. lets goto CC since shaggy can lead us (my navi skills suck)

please, NO SPEAR GUNS!

lets keep the 1st dive safe, until we are familiar with how we dive with each other. its my first time in the water for about a year, so no no for the guns plz.

CC sounds good also. I've never dove there but sounds interesting. Probably one tank dive for me. I have to make it back before 11 am. So just when and where to meet is the only question.

Hey guys, sorry to sort of hijack this thread but if anyone can provide me with some info on where I can learn how to dive and the permits or licensed I need I would really appreciate it. Just PM me with maybe a link so I dont mess up this thread :-D Thanks in advance!

free dive and scuba do not go together. We get separated as we dove inside never get to see you til after the dive. no fun.
