Freedivers are more than welcome to come along even though they do not scuba they can still enjoy being part of the group they can shadow the scuba divers if they wish or explore the area on their own. Also the freedivers can be in their own group there can be a group of scuba divers and a group of freedivers after all we are all aquariast that are getting together for an activity other than aquariums.

I freedive as well as scuba dive I prefer to freedive when spearfishing scuba gear sounds like a jet engine underwater the sound scares the heck out of the fish the smaller fish are not too affected but the larger ones are. I am choosing to scuba for this outing we should set up just a freediving outing for a later date. We should start to make these outings more regular it seems that there are more than enough of us that either scuba or freedive we shoulc be able to get a regular group together and plan more dives.

Fee varies from $6-10 depending on season and state budget.

if you plan on taking the 73 and the Newport Coast exit, be prepared with exact change for the unmanned toll gate. the fee rises every so often, so I am not sure what it is now. Cameras will document and send you a hefty ticket for driving through.

I am certainly down for the date and location. I am working on a meeting place I need to drive down to the area and find someplace that is public, easy to find and we will be able to enter early most likely off of PCH I will go down there this weekend. Crystal cove has tons of parking it is a state park so there is a parking fee we could all meet there if everyone chooses to but I thought that maybe some people would like to carpool so we would not all have to pay the fee.

there is a high end strip mall at 7912 E Pacific Coast Hwy, Newport Beach CA that is just south of the Reef Point entrance road that might be a good meetin' up staging area?

I totally forgot about that mall it is right across the street from Crystal cove that might be the meeting place. I just worry about someone getting a ticket or being towed for parking there and leaving their car. O.K. here is an idea first I need to know who is going and where they are located. I can take 3 people besides me and gear in my jeep so I can pick people up that are around me or on my way down to the meeting spot that way there would be 3 less cars that need parking after we meet. First come first with reserved spots so the first 3 people to post in this thread asking to ride with me have spots in my car.

I just checked the weather for next week and hopefully the rain will hold right now there is a chance of rain for both Saturday evening and Sunday keep your fingers crossed.

I'm in. I might be able to take my life time scuba buddy with me.
I can also take some people from La Mirada area if anyone would like. I've GMC Yukon XL much room in cargo area. Not going to bring back wet & sand gears in my truck unless you have your own container to put your gears in tho. If it rains or high wave, we can switch to snorkle.
