Levamisole In-Tank Treatment for AEFW

Sorry for all the questions, but I've got another. I set up qt with water from my display mixed 50/50 with fresh saltwater. Water was a little cloudy for some reason, I thought the acros were probably sliming like crazy since I had to cut many of them off of rocks, and with no filtration it all stays there. Well today I did the first dip. I took ten gals out of the qt and did the dip, and replaced with fresh water(figured a water change would help with the cloudiness). The water is cloudier than ever. Is this normal in a sumpless tank, or is it due to particles off the corals, or.....
If it makes any difference one colony is rtn'ing right now(it was one I had to snap off of rock), so I have no clue if its due to stress or what. What level of concern should I have? The only option I have is water changes, and at this point the water is already 70% new in the last two days.

Alright so my qt crashed, 20 some acros gone. I moved two colonies and about 6 frags to main tank before I lost everything. Being that I have a manageable amount now, can I dip and clean frag rack weekly(Going to leave colonies on sand). Honestly, I'd be surprised if any bugs lived through the crash. Is this a possibility or do I need to set up the qt again and start over?
I just ordered some vermasol and wanted to make sure about how much to dose. I plan to do my tank, 125 gal total water and do my brothers tank at the same time, his is 75 gal total water. Is there anything that I will have to remove while treating, I lost my acro crabs when I treated for red bugs and don't want to loose anythig this time. Is 3 100 gram bottles enough to trat both tanks and have some extra for future frag dipping. Thanks for any help.

Yes, some can survive. But since that you have a manageable amount I think that DIP's will be fine.

I'm going to revive this thread and give this treatment a shot. I have a 90. I've been seeing quite a few bites, but when I dip I only see white flatworms. Among my other fish, I have a Melanurus wrasse which has the best chance of eating them off once they get hit. I'd like to do a shorter period between doses 3-4 days as I've heard they can reproduce within 5 days of birth. I'll keep the protein skimmer off for 6-8 hours. I'm using Prohibit. The starting dosage will be 2 grams for my roughly 100+ gallons. I'll be setting an MP60 to waves for the most water movement and Oxygenation possible while the Skimmer is off.

I would not use it to treat a system.
I would only dip corals.
I am almost ready for sps. The prohibit will destroy your bio filtration.
It really killed my live rock. It destroyed my DSB in my refugium.
It has been a long expensive mistake I made.
What do you think it was about Prohibit that caused it?
it killed pods/worms/micro organisms then caused a chain reaction and started a cycle. Ammonia/po4 the whole ball of wax.
pure death in my tank except some fish and my LPS loved it.

Specifically prohibit or lack of Oxygen? If you can tell...

For me it was lack of oxygen that caused my fish loss, "bio-crash" & cycle, no doubt in my mind.
I lost very few SPS in my battle with AEFWs once I got serious about dealing with it.
You can treat the system but need to be very attentive. Get your skimmer back on in about three hours. Do a 10% WC within 24 hours of treatment. Do not over dose. I did not get back to my office after a treatment and it caused much trouble for me. The three previous treatments, done propoerly, did not cause a crash.
IME dips alone dont work. If you're not going to treat the system, toss your SPS in the trash, it's far less painful.

1. tip the protein skimmer cup up and allow the skimmer to continue running. Allowing the well oxygenated water to run right back into the sump. Maybe even open a window over the tank. Keeping a close eye on it is not a problem. My filtration is mostly Cheato. I am Vodka dosing, but I can stop. It hasn't kicked in yet and my nitrates are around 1 anyways.
