LF FHI Real Man Made Rock

The dry rock has had problems leaching phospahte. It has organics too. At least the brs ro(pukani) I used did .Several others have reported similar issues. Mine grew derbasia and bro**** nusiance algae in an otherwise clean system. I would cure it and test the curing water for PO4 leaching along the way. If so removal with gfo or lanthaum chloride to keep the curing water at or near 0 PO4 fora few weeks can do the trick.

Its an ok product but live rock from a good and trusted source as part of the mix is worthwhile, imo.

I was just going to order some dry rock from BRS. I had great success with the dry tonga, but this is great info to know ahead of time!

Doing your OWN man made live rock gives you control over both shape and content. It's probably cheaper than store-bought live rock (dry or actually alive) in most cases, too.
