i have that. i got the pukani filled the tank up and i hate it lol...i like the fhi stuff a lot better easier to wrok with too. I just dnt feel like 8$/lb is worth it tho from a lfs
The dry rock has had problems leaching phospahte. It has organics too. At least the brs ro(pukani) I used did .Several others have reported similar issues. Mine grew derbasia and bro**** nusiance algae in an otherwise clean system. I would cure it and test the curing water for PO4 leaching along the way. If so removal with gfo or lanthaum chloride to keep the curing water at or near 0 PO4 fora few weeks can do the trick.
Its an ok product but live rock from a good and trusted source as part of the mix is worthwhile,imo.
Doing your OWN man made live rock gives you control over both shape and content. It's probably cheaper than store-bought live rock (dry or actually alive) in most cases, too.
