LF: Mini-BTA and/or Cribrinopsis Crassa in the US

I think some guy recently sold a whole rock of them I think you just have to look out for sales thread of regular BTAs You'' find some smaller variants floating around.

Hephalump, thanks for posting! Those definitely appear to be the same "double bubble" type as in the pictures above. Thanks for resurrecting my search.

Sfork, that's awesome! I think those are actually BTAs, but I have heard rumor lately of a small RBTA variant, and that may well be it. I'm talking to a guy about some that he has and if I end up with some I'll keep you all posted.

Hey bradleym,I was the one with the what we call mini btas.I had to break down the tank in fear it might blow a seam,and didn't want 240+ gallons of water on my floors.When I was takeing out the live rock,those anemones had split several times.I counted 12 of those,biggest one was about 4'' across most were behind the liverock where I couldn't see them and 11 rbtas that were quiet large.I will try and track down to see who bought those.I sold all the liverock and livestock to a lfs.

I remember those! They were pretty cool too. I think still have a pic in my "mini BTA file" around somewhere lol. If you did track one down I would be very interested. Thanks!

P.S. Sorry to hear about your tank. I have a 210 and some nights I just lay in bed, waiting for the gushing noise... Nothing wrong with the tank, I'm just paranoid.

I recently purchased this and found it very strange at it wasnt pointy like my quadricolor

That's a pretty nice RBTA, but I kinda doubt it's a mini. I've seen a few like that grow up to be big. Ultimately the only way to tell is feed it and see. Good looking nem, congrats!

I think I may have one of these mini BTAs you are talking about. The person I bought it from said that the nem was twice the size of the one he sold me and split after being in his tank for a week. Here is a pic sorry my phone makes it really blue:

quite sure these are is a cribrinopsis crassa, they have less tentacles than BTAs and purple tips.
