LF: Mini Carpet Anenome

How are you harvesting these without killing them?

The only other thought I had was to superglue a small rock near them, and hope they multiply and attach to it!

I would say the easiest way to get them off the rock I have found is to use a bone cutter to cut the rock out under there foot.

How are you harvesting these without killing them?

try this:
*remove the rock anemones are attached to (if possible)

*turn the rock upside down so anemones are hanging downwards (it's best to hold the rock above something that will catch dripping water and anemones when they fall)

*with a hammer (or similar) tap on the rock gently to cause slight constant vibrations. The anemones hate vibrations while out of water. It takes a few minutes but they'll eventually drop off their rock

Google (and search RC for) Stichodactyla tapetum ;)

If there's enough to go around I'd take two also. Kat, if no one else wants to chip in for you I'll buy 'em if you want to drive to Elmira and get them!! I lost all mine in my tank move and would love to get some again!!

sounds good! ok. Kat's driving to Elmira pending success of fragging operation. These little cuties are 10 bucks a pop...so if anyone wants one...speak up now before i head out that way.
