Best bet is captive bred that tolerate typical reef temps, otherwise I understand temp needs to be low 70s. I paid $100 each, perfect bar fro PIA when they were around. These obviously we're from Karen. Once my 375 is established I'll see what I

Their collection area is very limited and there is not much else of interest. Also, coming out of Australia, these fish are not collected by some local villagers who get paid peanuts for their efforts but rather by professional scuba divers.
Further I assume that collection of these fish in the wild is strictly regulated with quotas for how many can be taken.
Add to that the air freight rates from Australia and you have already a quite high cost on the wholesale level. The stores then add their profit margin and a rarity fee and you end up with $2500 for a pair.

Then add that the Japanese are willing to pay a much higher price than we are and they are a lot closer. Its surprising that we get any WC latz at all.
