LFS charging 52 dollars for bubble coral??

Life must be pretty boring to start a thread like this, I'm not even sure why I am reading this or typing right now.
My wife is right I spend too much time on RC :(

You really don't need to pay for red legged hermit crabs. They are a dime a dozen all over every pull out from mm0 to key largo.
You should grab some checkered nerites while you are there.

These creatures of the sea are a commodity, sometimes high, sometimes low. I'll bet it would cost you more gas to come up here to save $5 or $10 anyway.

For me it always comes down to the quality of the shop and the quality of the coral. I'll often spend twice the price of online shops to get a good coral from a place that respects its customers. I like the fact that many of the lfs around me are willing to order anything I want and take the chance that it may not be to my liking when it gets there. If it isn't then no big deal and I'll see you next time around.

yeah well even miami LFS's dont charge so much , they charge around 35 which is reasonable... for some reason i really think $52 is rediculous....... besides... the clam is medium sized. What you are all saying about shipping is very true as well though.

Think of how high the cost of living is in Kew West and the cost of rent! I cant imagine trying to run any business let alone a fish store down there! its 90% tourist down there...Drive up here to Miami or Ft Laud! we have some great stores with decent prices...

My LFS had a softball size Neon green bubble for $92.00....I thought that was a bit too much. But, if it a really nice piece that is doing good then the few extra bucks might be worth it.

Very good point! id also like to point out that any live stock purchased by this Key West store has to be either picked up at the miami airport or hand picked at the local fish suppier, also in miami...last time i drove it it was about 3 hours across the bridges to go from Key West to Miami..and 3 hours back again...knowone delivers there.....jaime

is the bubble green or white i just paid 100 bucks for a 8 inch green bubble. imo that is a fair price not having seen the bubble.

Yea, if you're unhappy with the price in key west then take a day trip to Miami and do some window shopping until you find what you're looking for at the price you're willing to pay...

Btw, take some pictures of south beach for me while you're living the dream...:D

I didn't see this mentioned but how much is it worth to you to see what your actually buying versus buying sight unseen on-line?

I don't mind paying extra for livestock if the quality is high and I get to see what I'm buying.
