Lifereef Overflow Feedback

Would Appreciate some feedback on users of the Lifereef Single Overflow box before I pull the trigger

My main concern is noise for a living room DT setup. The unit has an optional (and pricey) "silencer", but cant find any pictures of information on that option.

It does concern me that an overflow that offers a silencer may be noisy. True? False??

And for anyone that bought the silencer--Did it help?? It this something that could be constructed as a DIY ?

Thanks in Advance for all replies.

I definitely feel better with the Lifereef over flow, I have the slim line model on my 46 gal. They suggest 900 to 950 gph pump. I have a sicce 951 gph on it. I have steered away from the CPR and aqua lifter as i have had to clean the vent for the cpr overflow many times cause it blocks air flow to the aqua lifter causing it stress and short life. I made my own silencer and it is QUIET....you just need to dial it in.

Best box by far, just installed there nano on my 41 gallon osaka, feeding 50 gallon sump in basement, 8 1/2 foot drop, have the silencer, it was a must, took some time to really dial it in , but now quiet as can be, only sound I here is my vortech mp10 and a little water flowing into skimmer box, had a POS off fleabay for a year was loud and leaked, , have a eheim 1260 running wide open for a return also , build quality is amazing

Thanks for the great feedback... Pulling trigger on the overflow today...

I noticed you can return the silencer if its not needed. I think I will order it just in case, and will also build a gurgle buster as a quick and inexpensive project.

Was quite impressed with the LifeReef Nano overflow I had a while back. Made my own silencer but it might not've been as effective as theirs.
