Lifespan of yasha haze goby

I'm just wondering how long they live in captivity. If you've had one, how long did it live, or how old is it currently? I remember Ron Shimek commenting on neon gobies life span of about 2-3 years in captivity.

I ask because my 2 1/2 year old yhg died last week after spending and hour swimming frantically at the surface of the tank, then disappeard. I knew it was going to die just from the looks of it. It seemed perfectly healthy the day before, eating and hanging out in it's cave with the pistol.

They can live considerably longer than 2 1/2 yrs. I have a friend who has had a goby which is close to ten years old. Something tells me this is in the range for captive cared for gobies.

I'm personally had a yasha haze goby for five years before it jumped from the tank.
