light cycle for cheto in sump

I just added an external sump with cheto in it. Should I run the lights 24 hours, or just run it on the opposite cycle on the tank lights?

Opposite of the tank liights will be fine...

I tried both and can say i had much more growth when i ran it opposite my main lights.

When I run my lights 24-hrs I have better growth. Try it both ways like two-weeks each.

Yeah, see what works best for you. I'm currently running mine 24 hours a day, and my chaeto is extremely healthy and growing rapidly. But I've heard that opposite light cycle works well also.

I keep mine on 24/7, i do alot of pruning but that's ok.

I actually just use a 25W plant light bulb available at local pet stores here in Fresno, CA (Petsmart, Petco). It's over a 10 gallon sump, with a little chamber that contains the macro algae.
