Do you have a link to what you are using?
that was gonna be my next question lol

yes, they do.. I grew mangroves previously, and they grew at the speed of a normal plant.. I got new leaves just about once a week with the higher powered lights..Would mangroves benifits from them as well. I've always thought they wer cool just never had a place to grow them.
I only think i have it 10 inches or so above the water.. Just sitting on the tank sides..I ordered the second one you have listed. Supposed to get it today. hopefully get it up and going tomorrow.
How high above the water are you running yours?

Probably the black one since it has simple optics on it.. And it's black, so it fits with the tank theme a bit more to me.. But either of them are overpowering the fuge by a ton..between the 2 wtich would you prefer?

haha i didnt even notice i did that lol early day at work budlight was going down nicely.
Give it a tiny rest of a couple hours.. But the lights work amazingly.. I'm using mine on a scrubber I built last week, and I already have some algea..Ridiculous.
From a baseball sized piece to a packed 40 breeder in two weeks, running the light 24/7. And at least for me, compared to what I used to grow, much thicker/ tougher. I think I could swing from the stuff. And that is with really low flow thru the tank (remote fuge, with 10-15 gph maybe running through it. TWV of system is around 320 gallons). Don't know if an increase in flow would yield more growth.
Very happy with the light.
Ya, I'm still playing with it. Interestingly, although I have the increased cheato growth, I'm also experiencing increased algae growth in the display. I don't know if maybe the lower portions of the cheato are releasing nutrients back into the water.Give it a tiny rest of a couple hours.. But the lights work amazingly.. Hmmnnn interesting.. Worth the try.. I have switched to a scrubber attempt after I just moved.. But my buddy running sodium did something similar to what you are thinking.. Try it out and see..Ya, I'm still playing with it. Interestingly, although I have the increased cheato growth, I'm also experiencing increased algae growth in the display. I'm thinking of putting it on a 6 on/6 off cycle for a couple of weeks and see if what kind of difference it makes. Maybe trying to figure out a way to keep the cheato within the top few inches of water. Or removing it on a more regular basis.
