Lighting for a Clam

Ok I want a clam, thinking about a Derrasa clam due to my lower lighting - currently I am running a 175 watt MH with a 14K Sout Pacific Sunlight bulb. I am getting 50-60par reading at the sand where the clam would be located and am running my light 8 and 1/2 hours per day.

Anyone see a problem with this?

Don't want to bring one home and then have it die on me for lack of light.

it will be in my 24 but I am lucky to have a few friends at one of the local large aquariums who I am sure once grown out some woudl love to trade me a small one for a larger one - by large I believe the reef display is 44,000 gallons or so :D

its a private aquarium with a SW shop located in it, I know the guy who runs he shop and we have spoke about hosting/growing stuff out and then returning it for smaller specimins in the future.

I will likly buy the clam from him as well and will definatly check with him to confim this one more time before doing so.

Public aquarium I wouldn't even try :D
