lighting for frag tank

Im going to order a 24"x24"x10" frag tank this week. Would a 24" 6 x t5 fixture be ok for mostly sps in this shallow tank, or would I be better off going with a metal halide fixture?

I don't know much about lighting but the tanks at SEA are all t-5s aren't they?

IDK I dont really go to the lfs much anymore cause nobody really carries large mean fish all the time, only crappy tropical kingdom does. I dont know if you guys have ever been there before but most of their tanks dont even run skimmers, just a wimpy fluval internal filter, like something you would use for a goldfish or turtle tank. I buy fish online for the most part. Anyway I decided on going with 6 24" t5s on individual reflectors. I think it should work out.

LOL, I havent been in there in years. Apparently nothings changed.

They're decent with reptiles but awful for fish. And it smells really bad in there too - all the mice for the snakes.

I think a MH would heat up that frag tank like crazy. Good choice on the t5s

+1 T5! I would look into a Tek 6 bulb or maybe even a retro kit.

Glasscages.com as I had some credit there. I got starphire glass on 4 sides and paid the same price as the regular tank! It was like 125 bucks. I am waiting till they bring their truck to Arizona in july so I can save on shipping. Its like 35 bucks if I meet the truck somewhere.
