Lighting for frogspawn or Hammer. Is it enough?

amithi thanks nice finally getting back in to the hobby....wish I had my old tank but this one has become very nice.

Little update on the new frogspawn...... The frog has opened up amazingly.........also has possible new heads starting and looks to be about six if I counted right.......funny didn't look like that in the LFS but must like my tank........ Glad I took the leap anyone know any other nice LPS to put in the tank with frogspawn torch and eventually hammer?

I have a small 4 headed frog spawn in my 6 gallon nano cube lit by 2 18w PC lamps. It get around 20-25 PAR lol. That is really low and it is growing very well. 4 T5s will be great.

In the LFS it was kept under 8 t5 bulbs up towards the top it was small and shrunk in the fleshy part was even tiny. After it got accustom to my tank the flesh swelled up really big and the tips came out full and at the base there are 6 new heads forming which btw are really neat to watch grow. Have a feeling this piece might get big and fast. But so far so good. Looking to get some hammer as well and not sure what else I would like with a YWG and pistol shrimp most corals need to be up because he has so many burrows under rocks it is crazy.

I've seen similar responses in some of the corals I've purchased as well. My LFS tank has a 4bulb T5HO and a Marineland Reef capable LED fixture. It's waaaay more light than I have on my 29g and it's shallower as well.

But for some reason when I took each one of my corals home they all opened up much wider and inflated much more than they ever had at the LFS. I'm thinking their NO3, NO2, trates are high - or are high enough to annoy the corals.

I guess something I just know I wasnt expecting it to get as big as it did when I bought it glad it is though just surprised me. I will upload new photos in a minute. Frogspawn and torch are doing great.

New pics of torch and frogspawn also a fts.

Yellow Watchman Goby decided to peek his head out and snapped a photo. He and the pistol are a great pair to have but the pistol shrimp digs so most corals need to be up so there is no sand getting in them or bothering them.

Awesome. What do you feed your YWG? I'm thinking about possibly getting one. Sorry for side-tracking...

He eats pretty much everything I put in the tank I use PE mysis I also buy omega one pellets small ones. use brine as a treat and the carnivore pack as well. He actually is my oldest fish been in there since the begining. I would recommend a pistol shrimp with him mine never looked happy until I got a great deal on my pistol and since then the colors and his activity have changed if you dont mind small sand storms of course otherwise just go with the YWG.

updates of torch and frogspawn. Let me know what you think from the beginning.

Nice looking torch and just bought the similiar frogspawn. thanks for the pictures nice to see someone elses as well.

Garetjax how does the trumpet do I am thinking about possibly getting some but not sure yet also would like some hammer too in my tank atleast. any incite on the trumpet would be appreciated

Trumpets are nice and easy, I've found them to be pretty quick growers as well. It was my first coral and went from one head to probably like 13 or 14 now in just about 6 months.

When I first bought it for like 6 or 7 bucks:

Taken about a month ago, grown more since this:

You were asking about hammers, here is a shot of my green with purple tip hammer with a frogspawn in the background. The hammer is one of my wifes faves, and the clowns love it too.
