UPDATE: Red Slime is nearly gone. A bit remains in the refugium. Weekly 10-15% water changes, an occassional phosphate sponge, and a lot of pateince has all paid off.

I recently added some green stripped mushrooms, yellow polyps, and pink/purple button polyps. Oh, and a candy/trumpet coral.

The candy coral wasn't doing too well. The top (nearest the surface / light) was fine, but the lower portions were looking thin.

Just this morning I added a PFO Mini MH pendant (150 Watts). That brings my total lighting from ~2.7W/gallon to ~4.4 W/g. And it allows me to place those inverts with high lighting requirements near the MH lamp (namely, the candy coral).

With a 92 gallon corner tank I now have: a 36" T5 in front, with a 24" T5 behind that, and the 12" Mini MH pendant behind that. That yields the most light at the highest altitude of rocks. The two sides are a bit dim, but I think it's fine.

I'm headed out this afternoon to pick up my new Kole Yellow Eye Tang. Fun, fun, fun.

so, i just did something to my 92. i changed from a tidepool I filtration system to a sealife systems refugium, its good for up to a 125. My temp dropped when i swtched it out and my temp is now around 77.2 to 78.1 degrees during the day. Thats with a 175 watt mh, and 3 65 watt power compacts for the lights. At night the tank is about 77 all night long. looks nice with the 5 watt led moonlight i have. In the tank i have a surge 750 for extra current. In the refugium i have 2 18 watt power compacts and a 3/4 watt moonlight. In the filter i have a mag 9.5 and a coralife needlewheel super skimmer. i just got the water tested, 0 nitrates, 0 nitrites, and 0 ammonia. seems pretty amazing to me... too amazing... hmmm...*scratches chin* Oh i just remembered, i need to change my bulb soon. The 175 watt mh is an old custom sea life bulb 10k, and i was thinking of going to a reeflux 10k... has anyone here used that bulb before? or are there any recomendations as to what bulb i should get that would give me crisp, bright light... any input would be greatly appreciated... oh and as for the temps i gave earlier, no i don't have a chiller and the ac is set on 76 all the time.

Putman,

I don't know anything about the Tidepool I filtration system or the Sealife Systems refugium. To what do you attribute the temperature drop?

looks like the casualties are....
german blue digi, purple digi, acro tenitus(?) white with blue tips, a tri colored table acro, a cranberry acro, green birdsnest half a purple and green humilus, 1/2 my green milli, half a salmon milli, 95% mistery blue and green acro..... most of my benifitial stuff that helps a tank work tho it is recovering.... the saturday after 9 days on genny and bubblers I had an ammonia spike of at least 2.0 laundry room stank bad for a bit so not sure if was on the downward curve of spike. added turbo zyme and helped a bunch...
