lighting question

it's not worth the risk. it says they are 277v ballasts, which is common in commercial lighting but not in homes. there's a chance the ballast is a 'multi-tap', so that you can rewire it to 120v. but there's a better chance that it's not. the reflectors are likely junk for aquariums and whatever bulbs it says are included are going to be worthless for aquariums.


so if it did work, you'd be paying 45 bucks (including shipping) each for 2 400w magnetic ballasts. which is an ok deal if you don't mind the work in converting them, but not great. i believe there are a few 400w mags floating around in local people's junk piles that you might get a better deal on, and be sure that they work.
