Lighting questions

Hi :wavehand:, this is my first post on this forum. I've had a fish only 30 gallon cube tank for the past 2 years and I'm looking into making it a reef tank. The only inhabitants currently in the tank are 2 maroon clowns, 3 turbo snails, and a orange dwarf hermit crab. What I'd really like to know is what are the lighting requirements for the dimensions on my tank(18in x 18in x18in). I'm looking to add mushrooms, and some polyps.

You could go with a small t-5 fixture. You don't need anything crazy for mushrooms or polys.

Right now I have a marineland reef capable 20" lighting system, should I change to t5 lighting or stay with what I've got?

Although I'm not a big fan of the marineland fixtures, for what you want to keep in the tank, it should be OK. Save your money.
