Lighting time!

How many hours a day do you guys have your lighing on for the macro algae in your sumps and/or refuge?

I'm lazy, so I generally give it 24/7. With macro's like chaet, it seems to grow faster that way. Some Caulerpa's I've found to actually grow faster when given a dark period. So it really depends on what type of macro's you have.

Anyone else.................I have my lighting at 10 hours per day at this point Vs. the 4 hours per day.......no wonder the marco disappears. Needs more light for photosystheisis........to eat!

Even with going with a lights off period, I'd go with at least 12 to 16 hours of light

I would reverse photo and absolutely give it at least a couple hours of dark.

I leave mine on 24/7
