I am using Nilsen reactor to dose Kalkwasser with autotop RO/DI water.
I know about 1-2 TSP per gallon (of tank water) when adding the limewater into the tank ,however how much kalkwasser (Pickling lime) can I put in the reactor considering that I want to add as maximum as possible to minimize refilling the reactor.

I have safety control for overdosing (controlled with the PH).
Tanks

How much to fill it depends on how it is engineered and what it can actually stir. The control over the amount dissolved comes in how often you stir it.

Thanks Randy. I am stirring for 15 minutes every 6 hours and I can change it.(its on a separate timer).
Can you give me suggestion about the stirring assuming that I want to fill the reactor as max as possible? and how much can I fill it?
The reactor is 2.5 gallon.
Thanks

If you really need saturated limewater, you may need to at least several times per day, but such frequent stirring will allow no settling on most reactors, so it will deliver more impurities than if it only stirred once or twice a day. :)

I cannot say how much you can fill it without stopping the stirrer.

My autotop system works subject to the stirring. I eliminate the top of water for 1 hour after the stirring is finished (everything is controlled) that mean that filling RO water to the tank is only every 5 hours with stopping for 1 hour (for the stirring ) so I do not have impurity getting into the tank. Base on that can I fill (for the argument ) 1 LBS of lime in 2.5 gallon reactor?
Thanks again and also for always being here and help.

Sure I will. I will set it up this weekend and probably will have results by the end of next week.

I have been using Rowa kalk for over a week, in comparison to previous readings and additions of varying Calcium/Buffer additives, I took Randy's and other's advice and only use 2 TTTT spoon max calcium hydroxide to 1 UK Gal RO water, and I am now gonna try with ONE TTT spoon per Gal as all parameters stayed good.

WARNING
The instructions with Rowa Kalk (Manual Mix) is that you mix one or two Tspoons with half to one litre of RO water, and it states it is 98.2% pure. I guess they want you to waste it and to sell more or something.
They also state - never prepare calcium hydroxide for a few days when administering by hand.
I'm gonna request that Mrs. Wages? emigrates here and brings her pickling with her.

I don't recommend administering it by hand at all.

Well, I fill the reactor with 3/4 Lbs of media and after 1 day the impellor of the pump was totally destroyed .It do not have the power to mix the media. I install a new pump but installed it at the highest point that I could (top of the reactor)
So far, a week after its look o.k. and the reactor function as it should be with lots of media inside.

For other question, How much do I need to add from the ââ"šÂ¬Ã…"œKent Marine Superbuffer DKH http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem.asp?idproduct=KM3135
in order to increase the alkalinity. This product is not in Randy Calculator.
Thanks
