Lion's Coral Den! Rics, Zoas, Palys!, Ric and Zoa/Paly lover!

New Candy Apple Reds and Spiderman Zoas!

I thought the Candy Apples were paly sized... They're a lot smaller than I thought.

did you ever think to feed them directly ?With rotifeast or zooplankton S maybe ?I've heard from other reefers, that it could accelerate their growth .. CMIIW

It might... but I only have a 12 gallon with no protein skimmer and change water once a week, so I don't think feeding too often would be a good thing for my tank. :( My growth rate is about 2-4 polyps every 1 1/2 months. Your tank is bigger, you should experiment! :)

How far do you keep the Kessil off the top of the the water? I just ordered the exact one you have and it should be here saturday! I cant wait to get better lighting!

Drove over an hour to check out a LFS people were talking about last week. They had lots of goodies, but wasn't ready to shell out the cash for them. I did get a red hornet and a mystery panama microzoa for decent prices though. It's blue with green sparkles in the center. Really happy with the microzoa, since I wasn't expecting it to look this nice!

Hornet up front, the mini colony with some closed polyps are the micro zoas. It's really hard to get a photo showing the details...

Also got a Darth Maul Micromussa today from the LFS. First time seeing it, had to have it. Sweet price too!

Awesome collection and I love the dark background as it really makes everything in the tank really pop!! Well done.

Thanks man! I got the black sand just to be different. But there's this funky magnetic part of it that completely destroys any magnetic cleaner... so it's kinda bad. Nothing an old credit card won't fix though.

I can't wait to see all those zoas grow out, this thing will look sick in 6-8mo!! :)
Thanks Ange! But ah... 6 months is such a long time though... :( But I'm excited as well.

So I'm 100% sure that the yasha goby sexing method works. Finally after a long time did I see them swimming out and about together. I seriously thought the male was a goner because I didn't see him for about 2 weeks. Makes up for the death of one of the Doni clowns. :(

Pics!

Oh, I agree, it'll look sick. And you know what else it'll be? Overgrown. Buddy will have to frag, & I'll be right here waiting for when he does.

Looks great. Glad the yasha pair is doing ok. :)

Your tank is beautiful, the growout will be awesome! Unfortunately I can no longer see any of your pictures!!! I think you must have just exceeded your bandwidth on photobucket. Luckily I got to see most of them before this happened and I noticed you also have a tailspot blenny? How long have you had him? I didn't seem him listed in the thread anywhere but I saw a pic with his head poking out! That's exactly what he does in my tank! ;) I also have one of these little guys in my 5g nano, a lot of personality.. I like him a lot. Not the most colorful but I do enjoy the markings on his face. It kind of reminds me of Indian war paint so I named him Geronimo after the famous Apache leader. Also he has a nice blue hue over his face and back. Anyway just wanted to drop a line about your lovely tank!

Hmm.. how can I fix the bandwidth problem? I just deleted some photos but it seems like it's not helping.
Nvm. Looks like I'll have to wait until March 7. =\

Thanks! I'm sad that my pictures won't show up at the time, but they should be available on March 7th. Tis a long time from now... I'll be sure to celebrate my bandwidth freedom again with more pictures. :) And yes I do have a tailspot! I'v ehad him for about 2-3 months now and he's grown so much since then. Blennies love to poke out don't they? As blennies go, they're fairly colorful! I was debating between him and Escenius Tigres, but my friends and gf sadi the Tiger Blenny really looked like cooked shrimp... Bahaha. Geronimo! Haha, what a cool name! My other friend on Nano Reef named his Kravitz. I feel like I need cooler names like you guys... Mine's called Puppy... And thanks for the drop! I have some updates but it seems that I won't be able to post them.
