Lion's Coral Den! Rics, Zoas, Palys!, Ric and Zoa/Paly lover!

Thanks! I'm sad that my pictures won't show up at the time, but they should be available on March 7th. Tis a long time from now... I'll be sure to celebrate my bandwidth freedom again with more pictures. :) And yes I do have a tailspot! I'v ehad him for about 2-3 months now and he's grown so much since then. Blennies love to poke out don't they? As blennies go, they're fairly colorful! I was debating between him and Escenius Tigres, but my friends and gf sadi the Tiger Blenny really looked like cooked shrimp... Bahaha. Geronimo! Haha, what a cool name! My other friend on Nano Reef named his Kravitz. I feel like I need cooler names like you guys... Mine's called Puppy... And thanks for the drop! I have some updates but it seems that I won't be able to post them.

Yeah if i get to the point where I exceed my bandwidth I might become a pay member... haven't decided. At least that means your pictures have been viewed a lot! =D Yeah I mean I do like his coloration a lot.. I mean his face literally looks painted on. I just know some of my friends aren't too impressed, compared to their reaction to some other fish I have kept ;) OF course they don't pay attention to his charming personality. He has colored up nicely since I've gotten him actually...

Puppy is kind of fitting actually!!! Mine certainly acts like a puppy, he does 'lay' in his "house" a lot but comes running right up to the glass when I sit in front of the tank... he also eats out of my hand ;)

Can't wait to see your updates.

Found a new site to get pics! Yee yee.

Posting more pictures of... *drumroll*... MORE zoas! :D

Here's some of the new purchases:

Mellow Yellows (thinking of changing the name, because I'm not a big fan of it...)

Pacific East Aquaculture's picture:

Mine!:

They're micro zoas, and have this bright BRIGHT yellow center but the base is blue! And the yellow on the center is the skirt color as well. Happy with these, since I've never seen them before :)

But can't beat these... They're labeled as Sunset Splashes, but they look like Bloodshot imitations to me. SIIIICK. Current faves!

It's so beautiful. <3

And then these...

Look awesome right? And there's 9 polyps. Cool!

But instead... I got these:

Definitely NOT what I ordered for. No metallic blue sheen, no green skirt, no 9 polyps. Dull, grey, faded (same color as my sand!) and tiny gold center. Can't be my lights, because if anything the kessils would make them POP. Also, only 7 polyps MAX. Hoping that Pacific East Aquaculture fixes this... It cost me $42+ for this frag and I won't let this slide on them...

Also got in a 4 polyp frag from another site today, but it's not opening up so no pics. =\

I'm really disappointed with the blue zoa... they looked so beautiful and PEA has such a great reputation...

LOL. The only picture that got viewed was a picasso clown I was trying to sell that I took in HD quality... Was posted on three forums so that's most likely the culprit. Tailspots FTW! Definitely a fav fish. :)

Hope you see the updates!

Man, that photobucket bandwidth limit comes up quick if you are on RC huh? Lol, I've been dealing with the same. Sucks about the zoas, hopefully they will make it right. I'm lucky enough to have LFS' that stock nice stuff so I always get to preview before purchase.

Tank is looking super sweet!

It was actually because of a picasso I was trying to sell, and I posted it on three forums... Oops.

And Pacific East Aquaculture actually refunded me for the zoa, it was just a mistake. So everything's good now. :)

I have a great LFS as well, but they don't stock much zoas. More of a SPS and LPS shop.

Hahaha... again. Got another zoa!
Shout out to WrongGenotype for the cool trade! They shine in my tank. :)

You can even see the yasha pair!

nice tank, quick question on the back wall. does the black scrape off revealing the clear plastic so I can light a fuge or am I doomed to have the submersible bulbs?

Yup. It's just a humongous sticker. Comes right off. Let me know what light you end up picking up, since I'm on the look out for an affordable fuge light as well!

The JBJ fuge lights have good reviews... but it's $60 for a fuge light... I still can't swallow that costs for just 4 leds.

Is it only on the outside or inside as well? I'm going to have to inspect this. is it all 3 chambers or just chamber 1?

I actually have a buddy whos got a spare JBJ LED light that he got for free(company double shipped by accident) so he's giving it to me for a frag trade..

but if I didn't have that, I'd DIY 6 cree LEDs on a small channel with a dimmable driver. it'd be good for both my fuge & for the future if i need to supliment color(it'd have flat whites, red, green, & UV in it)

Lucky guy! And like I said, one big sticker. All of the black is a humongous sticker. It will peel the whole back and reveal the glass part of the tank.

Been awhile since an update.

Here's my latest pick ups from stores and trades:

Just another shot of my Darth Maul Micromussa. This guy is a pig when it comes to mysis.

Alright yo's, decided to try something new: Diver's Den

Here's my new Yucatan Shrimp, Periclimenes yucatanicus!

Pic from Diver's Den:

Him in the tank, just chilling on the koralia:

Pics don't do him justice, so here's a video:

And sorry to all of those tail spot blenny lovers out there. I took Puppy the tailspot blenny out of the tank :(
Later bud, you were one hell of a cool fish. I'll still see you in the 400 gallon ocean that you swim in downstairs.
Puppy:

But don't worry, he was taken out for a good reason. Because I finally jumped the gun and got this sweet Australian beauty... Anyone know what he is? ;) As a 2x whammy, my new yumas are in the same pic:

Clearly pictures do not do this species justice, as I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY when he came in! Totally way better than the picture on Diver's Den, and much better looking than the one my LFS had awhile back.

Sadly, he came with a wounded fin, and there appears to be fungus growing there as well. This is definitely an issue, and he is probably the most expensive fish I've ever bought, and LiveAquaria is supposed to send fish in excellent quality, being quarantined and all etc. So I contacted them to see how they'll deal with this and what I should do to help him meanwhile. Sent this video I took to show them the wound:

Sorry to hear about the fish, that's why I am always scared to order stuff online, I like to see and observe in person for a period of time first. At any rate, LA has great customer service and I have no doubt they will make it right. Just unfortunate they would even ship anything like that!

Tank is looking really great, I didn't even know there were that many types of zoa/paly out there lol! Can't wait to see everything grow out.

Thanks Ange,
I've had really good experiences with Live Aquaria in the past but I agree with you, this guy shouldn't have left the facility. He was on Divers Den for about 3 weeks too. I'm waiting for them to get back to me, hopefully things will work out, as an injury like this definitely not my fault and I don't think he could have harmed himself in the bag let alone the fungus growth. I'm going to try feeding him and see what happens, but he's definitely a cool fish, I like him tons more than my tailspot!
