Got this one in today and after 15 minutes it went into the rocks. Hopefully it'll come out by this weekend.

I still didn't get mine.
The one my LFS got (L. swalesi) was in bad shape and died.
They didn't get anymore.
I'm still waiting for it...

Hey, does anyone have or know about L. aurora?
I wonder if that one is a good fish as well... It's the Sunset Basslet.
I think it grows a little more than the other ones, right?

Anyone keeping multiple L. rubre? Are they aggressive toward each other? How difficult do you think it is to form pair or trio? Do you think they'll get along with a larger L. mowbrayi?
Any additional info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Tim. I've one now that's a bit under 2" and I'll be getting 2 more along with a L. mowbrayi toward the end of the week. Hopefully they'll get along but if not then I'll work on just keeping a pair together.

Both new L. rubre came in on Thursday and they're both bigger than the one I already have. All three came out today during feeding time. So far all three appeared to get along fine and there's been no chasing that I can tell. The Cave basslet is much smaller than the description and haven't seen since the Friday. Hopefully it will come out in a few more days. The newcomers are still shy so I'll get some pics once they settled in.

The 2 on top are the new addition. Sorry for the dirty glass as I don't do much to this tank other than WCs and add cleaning crew periodically. The tank been up since 2006 and I've a Mandarin in there that's doing well and I'm afraid to change anything.

Lets start with the good news--all 3 L. rubres are doing fine and eating pellets and frozen. All 3 swim out in the open without any problem even when I approach the tank.
Bad news--I still haven't seen the L. mowbrayi since adding to the tank.

I've a pair of peppermint shrimps and always see one of them carrying eggs so I'm sure the fish gets a good meal every couple of weeks

L. eukrines--the pair is doing very well and the bigger one (I assume is the male) is growing much faster than the other one.
Two days ago I added a pair of Sunrise bass (looks like the one on LA DD--L. mitratum). Can someone confirm if this is the same? Not much info on them so I would greatly appreciate any links/info on them. Since going into their new home they settled right next to the window.

I've got my first Liopropoma sp. today. Finally!!!
It's a Swissguard Basslet (L. rubre) and it's doing really well.
Couple weeks ago my LFS got a L. mowbrayi, but it wasn't doing well. It died in two days at the store.
They seem to have trouble with the mouth also. I think they hit the glass and get infected.
Have you notice that?
There is a site that recommends not to get 2 or more Liopropomas in the same tank unless if introduced together. What's up with that?

I'm vert sad to report the loss of my L. rubre. The tank had no electricity for 12 hours and my assessor and the Liopropoma passed away!
That was one of the nicest fishes I've ever had. It's so sad to loose a strong healthy and happy fish like that!!! I still feel so bad!
I'll be trying to get another Liopropoma soon.
Any suggestions for colorful species in an affordable price range, besides the L. rubre?
