List the strange things your horses do

Ok, since I've only had my horses for a day and a half now, I am curious as to what are odd behaviors compared to normal. I have been intently watching these two and keep thinking to myself, can this be normal?

My two are very distinct in personality. The male seems pretty laid back and lazy, whereas the female is quite active. She likes to go towards the flow and get blown back behind the rocks (3 inches between rocks and glass) and comes out the other side. She has done this several times since we added our flow to the tank. I would think if she didn't like it she wouldn't do it...but we're talking about fish here...

Anyone want to add their observations to give me a clue? Thanks in advance!!

I haven't had them for years---but one of the more disconcerting moments was the time the male decided to anchor himself by grabbing the female around the neck, which pretty well alarmed her. She then grabbed a floating thermometer and hung onto that while thrashing wildly to get free. The whole business set up a clatter that sounded like a marble in a washing machine. I didn't quite know what to do, except grab the thermometer and try to get it out of play before it broke and scattered metal beads and nastiness through the tank. This movement startled the horses, the male let go, the female let go, and peace resumed. They never did it again, but then I never let them have the glass thermometer within reach again, either.

I wouldn't say odd behavior, but my male always seems to hide in the rocks when I decide to feed. And he never comes out, so I have to reach my hand in there and swuirt some mysis for him to eat. The female is nice though, always out and about.

Good luck with your horses!
