Little Rimless Radium Tank - 2 years of progress

I know what you mean. My wife and I live south of SF on the coast; I really only have to worry about heat exhchange maybe...MAYBE 20 days out of the year in Aug/Sept. The rest of the year my heaters are kicking on (sump in garage) an hour after the lights go off and kick off when the photo period starts in the AM.

6 hour photo period on the radiums, uh? Nice growth, nonetheless.

nice nice, glad to see you got the flatworm damages under control :)

many of us have learned to live with them :)

Been about 3 months so I thought I would do a quick update. Things are going pretty good had a couple alk incidents but got them squared away quickly. Appeared to have wiped almost all my AEFW with the exception of a piece that was encrusted on a rock that I didn't dip. I really need to dip everything. On a PE note.. well I don't have any anymore. I added an OSFF that eats brine..but it also picks on all the acros all the time. Some how though even with the fish growth is still good and I'd say colours (at least in person) are starting to get better in most cases. Although the photos came out a little funky color wise imop

anyways..here are some picks.

Turkey baste weekly, occasionally dip affected corals and you can live with them. A lot of work and you never rid the tank but it survives.

mammoth, this thread is a fantastic depiction of your re-entry into the reef addiction! not to mention the slow migration to sps addiction

I absolutely love it.. and the tank is just awesome!

I've been out for about two years and just now, I am starting up a new tank.. this thread has inspired me and has made me remember that deeply satisfying feeling of "I got HAPPY coral!"

thanks!

Beautiful dedication Mammothreefer!!!
Would love to ask a few questions. I noticed you switched to IO, how do you like this salt, what were you running before. Also I noticed you cal is pretty low, is that what IO mixes too? And lastly I noticed you did have sand at one point, now you don't?
