Live Aquaria Questions

Likewise. I've never been refunded shipping. However, I typically buy corals when I purchase fish, so I can usually hit the free shipping minimum.

I was going to clarify that it has been 10 years since I have paid for shipping thru LA since I easily hit the $175 free shipping mark.

I usually add some algae, shrimp, snail, hermit, live foods or whatever else I may need to make the free shipping limit. The savings on shipping are usually worth it.

I've used LA several times and have been happy with their service. I had a medium rabbit fish arrive DOA and got credit with no problem. I had a leather coral that melted down the day after it arrived and no problems with that credit either. I wish the minimum for free shipping was a bit lower but it hasnt dissuaded me from purchasing a single item that I really wanted when I didnt need anything else.

The only thing I would wish for is that you could have your purchased Diver's Den items held for a day or two and add on more items. I understand that they want to ship them out as fast as possible, but often they list one fish one day and the matching partner the next, so if you want to get a pair you either have to wait with ordering and take the risk that someone snatches the first listed before you, or place two orders and pay shipping twice. OK, for those that buy $200+ fish that's not an issue, but with the small fish I usually look for it can get pricy. If they had something like that or would list more of the same species at once I would likely buy more from them.

I've spent well over a thousand minimum at both Liveaquaria and Bluezoo. Liveaquaria Is better hands down. I've had some serious issues with Bluezoo.. If I wrote out all my experiences with them it would be a complete joke to say the least. LA cares, BZ does not.

Oh ****, I have a pending order with Bluezoo.

Lets see how it goes. Hoping for the best.

They are not bad and in general less risky than your LFS where the warranty usually ends at the door. I just wasted $75 on a yellow assessor from a LFS that only lasted a day and a half. Even with Blue Zoo I would at least have gotten a credit.
I plan to order some more things from Blue Zoo as soon as I have the QT space to house it.

That's why I order on Friday after 6pm and have sent for the following Saturday delivery... worth every penny of that extra $15

OK good to know. Will report how that goes.

How does that work with Diver's Den's 2 Day limit, and how can you add more items later?

If you order on friday after the fish have went out for saturday deliveries and pick Saturday delivery the fish sits at DD for another 7 days... That how you get around the 2 day thing. Also you can buy on a monday and have sent out for a friday delivery, all you have to do is call and talk to someone in customer service. You add items later the same way, call and place the order with a person in customer service and have it sent out with the fish you already bought.

After nearly 3 years of only buying fish from my LFS's, I used them for my first online fish purchase last month. Fish arrived on time, alive and looked good. Unfortunately, it never ate and died after 12 days. A quick call to a courteous employee had my credit for the fish ( and shipping charges! ) the next day.
I am in vacation mode now, so not doing any new fish purchases, but I will not hesitate to use use them in the future if I can't find a fish I want locally.

You can. Just indicate in the notes when you place the order. Their policy is that all orders must ship within two business days of the order being placed, but they will make exceptions as Dmorty217 noted above.

Im about to find out just how good blue zoo customer service is. A pajama cardinal and a fire shrimp from my order didn't make it through the night. Sent the email off today with pics for credit.
