The school where I work is shutting down our 285 gallon SW tank. The science teacher is converting it to a FW tank next fall to fit with some of what they plan to study next year.
I need to get rid of the live rock asap this week. I don't know how much there is in terms of pounds - I seem to recall we bought at least 200 lbs of it (its a 285 gallon tank and their is a lot of rock in it. There is a mixture of rock in here (came from a couple different sources) and has been in a pest free tank for 3+ years
If someone will take it all - and pick it up this week - I can sell if for $300 total - so if my 200lb recollection is correct, that works out to $1.50 a lb (it may be more than 200 lbs - I am not sure but $300 for all of it)
If we have to split it up, bring a scale and we will let it go for $2 a pound if you take 100 lbs or more. If you take less than 100 lbs, then it will cost $3 a pound (as I would like to get rid of it to one or two people. Shoot, split it with a friend or take it and resell what you don't need yourself for more $)
Must be picked up during the school day this week in Sewickley as the tank is going to be shut down later this week. You need to take it out of the tank and bring your own containers to transport it
Posting here first before it goes on Craigslist later tonight
Thanks
