Live rock made into low no3/po4 dry rock

Hi,
I planning on moving across the country and had to break my tank down. I've have all my rock sitting in a bin for the past month just drying out. My goal is to have nice clean dry rock that is ready to roll with a little bacterial jumpstart when I get my tank set back up. I'm not up for an acid or bleach bath. I may not have it up and running agin till summer so I have time. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

If you do not want to bleach or acid clean, the best you can do is scrub the rocks, then soak and filter with a phosphate absorbing resin and carbon. Change the water every couple of days with ro water. After a 3 to 4 weeks start cycling the rock with saltwater and bacteria.

Lanthanum chloride solutions (SeaKlear) are another good way of removing phosphate, at least at higher levels, and they tend to be cheaper than GFO or other media. Water changes work, too, but they are probably the most expensive approach.

Technically, you don't have to scrub, but it might reduce the amount of time needed and the amount of phosphate to remove.
