Live Rock

Have heard good things about premium aquatics. Wondering which live rock to purchase. I only need 25lbs for my new JBJ 28g nano. Ive heard the nano rock is basically rubble, so im assuming 25lbs of the permium fiji uncured rock is the way to go? any help would be greatly appreciated!

thanks!

The nano is not rubble at all. It's actually really nice pieces of a mix of Fiji, Timora, and Bali, just all in softball size range. Our rubble rock is all golf ball size pieces.

For what you're wanting I would recommend going with the Bali. You will get really nice shapes, great color, and a good amount of life. On top of that the rock is very porous, getting you more volume per pound than other rocks, and essentially making the price cheaper.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Jeremy, one last question. I have the 28g JBJ nano filled up and waiting for rock. Which rock should i be aiming to get? Cured or Uncured. The rock is what i am using to cycle my tank.

thanks so much

We are bringing in our second shipment of a new rock tonight called "Manado". We received a sample shipment of 1000lbs about 3 weeks ago, and to say the least - it's phenomenal! If this shipment proves to be as good as the last, I would highly recommend it. If you want to wait until tomorrow I can give you some feedback on it.

Thanks,
Jeremy

thanks Jermey, my tank is actually settled down with the sand storm anyway so i will most def. wait! please let me know how it is! Ill be ordering 25lbs for my 28jbj

I'm going to follow along if you don't mind. Setting up a BC29 in the next few weeks and PA is for sure where I am getting my LR to seed my base rock.

Unfortunately it was off loaded in the islands due to space (heavy air travel during the holidays). They reshipped a new batch out over the weekend and it should be arriving Tues / Wed this week.

The Manado rock is in stock and it's absolutely stunning! We've been looking for a replacement for Marshall Island Liverock for the last 3 years..... We have finally found it!

that looks great! how do i go about ordering? didnt see it on the site yet. The rock seems very pourous and light, 25lbs should be more then enough?

Nice rock and perfect timing. I am also looking for some rock for a new tank as well (nano)

Please let us know when we can start to order. Can you give us a heads up on what you are going to charge? Will it be cost per pound or will it be some sort of Box deal at a set cost?

This will all be sold by the pound, and the cost is the same as Bali Alor....

Manado Liverock:
Cured - $6.49/lb
40+lbs - $5.99/lb

Uncured - $5.99/lb
40+lbs - $5.49/lb

We will have it up on the site today, I will post back here once it's up.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Nice looking rock. It looks a lot like Tonga branch. Is it as solid as the Tonga? I loved the shapes of my old Tonga, but not so much the solid nature of the branches which meant all life lived on the surface of it. Wasn't an issue as half of my rock in that tank was Marshall and Fiji, very porous with nooks all over. But would it make sense to do an entire tank with just this branchy stuff?

Just ordered 25lbs Jeremy. Pick me some good ones! Its going to be a mixed reef!

thanks for everything
