Live stock - Tang suggestions

I have a QT fully cycled ready to go and 135gal DT with current live stock of:

royal gramma
3 lyretail antheis
6 line wrasse
cleaner wrasse
mccoskers flasher wrasse
2 ocel clowns

plan on adding 3 tangs, 1 flame angel, 1 copperband butterfly, maybe a marine beta.

Tangs: thinking 1 yellow tang and 1 kole tang and 3rd: powder blue? , powder brown ? or maybe Whitecheek Surgeonfish?

any suggestions? Do you think that is to much bioload or just enough? I have a vertex omega 150 skimmer will have corals (so will watch butterfly and flame angel closely!)

Thanks!:lolspin:

That may be a little too much of a bioload. I would recommend picking one of the tangs, preferably one that stays small. After you put your rock in the tank, you may only have about 90 gallons of water in the display. So, keep that in mind when stocking your fish.

I would not do 3 Tangs. Tank that size I would only do the Yellow and Kole Tangs. The PB will be too aggressive.

I have live rock my tank has been running for 3 months.. its 72x18x24.. Its minimal aquascape. I could just do the Kole & Yellow tang but would really like a powder brown ? :( I wanted a blue tang but that is out of the question i guess. I would be safe to add the flame angel / copperband butterfly and maybe a goby or hawkfish ? if I just did the kole and yellow tang?

Bioload is fine, you have fish currently that that don't get no bigger than 3 inches. It's recommended that PB needs at least a 180 gallon. If you are determined to have 3 tangs, you might get away with it for awhile, but it won't be long before you are trying to catch some fish. PBs are known for their aggression and they can really be jerks.

It says PB are recommend 125 gal on both liveaquaria and RC from what I have seen.. anyways so I could skip the PB.

So total bio load would be :

royal gramma
3 lyretail antheis
6 line wrasse
cleaner wrasse
mccoskers flasher wrasse
2 ocel clowns

adding:

marine beta
flame hawkfish
flame angel
copperband butterfly
yellow tang
kole tang
watchmen goby
maybe a midas or lawnmower blenny

How does this work? not over kill and everything should get along okay? :D:artist:

I personally would drop the tangs completely, especially with all the other rather shy and timid fish (gramma, CBB, marine beta) as tangs are too restless and often quite aggressive.
On top of that they are among the most ich prone fish.
The blenny together with a good clean up crew should be good enough to keep algae in check.

My royal gramma is always out and about he even shows his teeth to my cleaner when I first introduced him. I don't have a CBB yet or marine beta. I really want a yellow/kole tang as tangs seem to be my favorite fish right now. I'm thinking maybe add all the fish I want so its liek this :

royal gramma (currently have in DT)
3 lyretail antheis (currently have in DT)
6 line wrasse (currently have in DT)
cleaner wrasse (currently have in DT)
mccoskers flasher wrasse (currently have in DT)
2 ocel clowns (currently have in DT)

adding:

marine beta < ( can skip )
flame hawkfish < ( can skip )
flame angel < ( can skip )
copperband butterfly < (really want!)
watchmen goby < ( can skip )

Then add the two tangs together at the same time and around same size : yellow < (really want!) and kole tang < (really want!)

Does that sound like a game play or is that too many fish?

What two tangs get along that will fit in my tank? I guess a yellow and kole tang will fight.. what about a yellow and purple tang? or purple and a kole tang?
