Local Fish Stores in our area

Hey guys,

I travel throughout the state a lot for work, so I always love hunting down local shops and checking them out.

Seems that since Sandy swept through, a lot of places have disappeared.

Figured I'd put together a list of local shops, if anyone can add to it, that'd be great.

My favorite and main store I go to:

Aquarium Care Center - Ocean Township

and then there is:

Tropiquarium - Ocean Township
Aqua Oceans - Toms River
Sharkey's - Brick
Josh's Pet Agree - Manahawkin
Aquaridise - Brunswick I think?

Absolutely Fish - Clifton

Can anyone add to the list?

Thanks.

that was probably me, im the only girl that works there! im glad hes doing well and you love him. theyre one of my favorites!

Sea level aquarium in pine brook, Nj. Not a bad store and salt section has grown the most. High end lighting over tanks, nice fish, and a lot of frags. It's a newer small store but up an coming.

I will definitely have to check out Sea Level next time I'm anywhere near pine brook.

I will have to also check out Ultimate Corals once I'm convinced my tank is ready for corals.

Good input!

I forgot about that place. I was in that area one day, and stopped by there.. they open late and I couldn't stick around to wait unfortunately. I'll have to try again soon.

Thanks for the reminder and adding to the list!

Just stopped by Elos Aqua Studio in Millburn... WOW is an understatement. Incredible, rare and vast selection of all kinds of livestock. Definitely a must to stop by if you're in the area.

just to continue adding to the list I just stopped at a pet store in Somers Point New Jersey near Atlantic City the store was called New World pets and I must say I left there very unimpressed... multiple dead fish in tanks small salt selection.. looks mostly neglected

I've been to new worl pets before...nothing has changed. They weren't knowledgable at all. I live in South Jersey so it's slim pickins around here. There's Aquarium Center in Blackwood but that's about it. Their fish are hit or miss. Although that have a monster moray eel that's in a like a 75 gallon tank. He's been like that for about a year. I feel so bad for him. I want to travel to some of these stores in central and north jersey!

There is also the Reef Encounter in Hackensack. They have been there forever. They are good for like equipment, accessories, and supplies.....but not so confident about their fish.

I use Absolutely Fish for all of my purchases, esp. fish and corals.

I stopped in a new petco that I discovered in Brick town.. it's in the plaza with dicks sporting goods, Christmas tree shop, and Houlihans restaurant on route 70.
This was hands down the nicest Petco I've ever been to. Actually better than some lfs that's I've seen and recently been to, new world especially included.
this petco has a designated coral tank, clean fish tanks with a great selection of fish. Nothing out of control or neglected. I made sure to compliment the guy running the department, as you could tell he really cared and was giving decent advice to customers.
absolutely worth stopping if you are in brick near route 70

Aquarium Center in Blackwood. Inhave never had an issue but they are a little pricey. The only problem I have is the staff are very young and not very knowledgable. I wish south jersey had some more places though
