I stopped in a new petco that I discovered in Brick town.. it's in the plaza with dicks sporting goods, Christmas tree shop, and Houlihans restaurant on route 70.
This was hands down the nicest Petco I've ever been to. Actually better than some lfs that's I've seen and recently been to, new world especially included.
this petco has a designated coral tank, clean fish tanks with a great selection of fish. Nothing out of control or neglected. I made sure to compliment the guy running the department, as you could tell he really cared and was giving decent advice to customers.

Was just there yesterday. I believe his name is Andrew, he's wonderful. Been reefkeeping for 20 years he said. Extremely knowledgeable and actually cares for the animals, since Petco doesn't really have that sort of good reputation.

I went over to ocean township to see ACC a couple of days ago, purely because of this thread. I'm now $500 poorer, but it is now my go-to road trip store for coral. There isn't another store I have seen that comes close (maybe tfp on a good day).

Side note - was also going to stop by ultimate coral in Jackson on the way, but my GPS took me to a wawa with no store in sight. Where the hell is that place?

sounds great acc really is a top notch place glad you liked it I have to let him know about the bird dog I deserve for sending you there.. jk.
I myself am yet to venture over to ultimate corals, the guy who runs the shop out of his garage is what he told me. you have to contact him on Facebook to set up a time to come over and meet but he's usually available throughout the day, even pretty late, most days of the week.

Send over an email to mark@ultimatecorals.com he does everything by appointment only but that usually works out. Definitely some amazing corals but I may be a bit bias
