Local stores??

One thing we could do would be to post a flyer or something at the LFS in the area to get some attention?

Speaking of local stores... What good ones are around? I've checked out "Get Tanked" on Spring Hill drive a couple times but half of their tanks were empty(no fish) both times. I also stopped in at Petopia a couple weeks ago. They're going out of business. It doesn't seem like a big loss though. They had several tanks with fish that had been dead so long they were all fuzzy with whatever grows on long dead fish. Anyway, are there any good stores in the area? I'm half way between Crystal River and Weeki Wachee.

Also** Anyone got a 55 gallon tank they can part with? I need it for a sump.

I live in Weeki Wachee , and I drive to Oldsmar ( Fish and Other Ichthy Stuff ) . I know there are people that have reef tanks in spring hill , but I don't know what fish stores they go to .

I mainly go to get tanked. The tanks are empty depending on the day but Greg is a great guy and will get anything you want.

There really aren't any other LFS in the area. You can occasionally find a deal at Petco but it's hit or miss there. I'll second Ted on FIOS, it's a hike from here but well worth it.

Yeah, I used to make the trip to FAOIS when I lived in Port Richey. I just can't seem to justify the trip anymore though.

If I am going down to FAOIS I call my friends in the area , and ask if they need me to pick up anything for them , and they do the same for me .

FAOIS or Salt Lifers for me. And were within walking distance of Exotic Pets but no.. just .. no. That store is depressing.

I try to get to FAOIS when I can. Well worth the drive.

Did Get Tanked move? I thought it was in Times Square (the old St Pete Times office) but on my last drive through I didn't see them

Yeah they moved about a year ago. They are now located on Spring Hill drive by Linden. A few plaza's from the Fire Station

Just an update, went by that new store petopia today and it appears they've closed up shop so now we only have Get Tanked.

That is sad , that we don't have more fish stores in the area . I know we have a Pet Supermarket , and a Petco , and I think another pet store in the strip on US 19 . They are not fish stores . They do have some fish , but they are not a LFS , and I don't even consider them ,as a fish store .

Petco is horrible, was in there the other day seeing if they had anything interesting and their tanks are literally crawling with bristle worms.

That's really sad , that the big chain stores , don't hire someone knowledgeable to run their fish section . I guess fish is only a small part of their sales .
