lol what the when did those get there

well upon inspection of my overflow, lol theres about 2 tables spoons of salt creep on it lol and it is full of these little sponges I forget what they are called. there like little teardrop with strings coming from the top I know there safe I just forget what they're called. Do I need to worry about the clogging anything up?

Can you just scrape the sponges off? I've never had those kinds... which is good because they look too much like the eggs in the ALIENS movies for my comfort =(

o ya they'd come right off, but why scrape off free filters? there in the overflow so I cant see em, I'm just wondering if it might turn into a problem.

they are Q-tip sponges. Nothing at all to worry about

ya thats what they're called. I ve heard another name also prolly the scientific name, but I was just making sure they would clog anything up I know they are safe and stufff.
