Had this wrasse for a few weeks now and he's been completely dormant, hanging close the rocks and swimming around carefully. Today, I put in a Filamented Flasher Super Male from LADD and he springs to life, flashing the new comer. Short video but my first I've done:

Good looking fish! I've read they can be pretty aggressive, I have a female who has been pretty docile thus far but I keep a close eye on her.

It kills me that he was so dormant and then just sprang to life. I've been wondering when I'll have to start using the acclimation box for newcomers, and it looks like that time has come, haha.

it looks like he is showing down with the male filamented...could be a bad situation.. Id be ready to remove 1 if it doesnt work out. I have a few aggressive wrasses and that is exactly what they do when they see other males of the same species/ closely related genus.

and when adding wrasses to a tank with other wrasses it is foolish to not employ the benefits of a acclimation box...

Things have settled down now and they aren't flashing each other anymore. That was within an hour of the Filamented coming out of the rocks.

I have a big acclimation box, but this 220 only has like 5 fish in it as I've just now starting restocking from an ich breakout and wasn't sure when it would be needed.
