My LTPC did well for the first 2 weeks. Now, tenticles are withdrawn and not extending. Tank parameters are perfect with only minor variabilty, tank temp 78 degrees F, extensive lighting including MH, Flourescent, and LED (~5 watts/gal). "He" is on the sand (tank 24" deep) and has been fed at regular intervals w/artic pods and fresh fish/shrimp. Any ideas??

well sometimes you just never know what your buying and could be on the way out or just finnally getting use to your tank.
wouldn't worry till you see tissue resession then be worried!!

Two things stand out. One, stop feeding it and see if it expands. Second it's possible that it is adjusting to the light levels in your tank. Moving it to a slightly shaded location might help as well.
One more thing, look under it for a bristle worm that could be irritating it.

Thanks LVreefer, I think you are correct. I believe that it is "light poisoning" from my intense MHs. I am going to try to shield it.
