Look what im gonna build........OT

Not that it's for sale, but you need a tank like mine, a 4*8*15" 300g table. That's what it was originally for.

If you wanted to save money you could always just buy a 300g stocktank. It's 6*6 I think.

PS, have you seen pics of the lagoon over in omaha? It's in a guy's basement and used as his sump. I'll see if I can find a pic. Probably similar to what you are building.

Here's a pic from his gallery. It's made out of wood and covered in siding that looks like stone called syn-stone.

Just an FYI, but you can't see the pictures from wavrz site unless you're a member :(

Well basically its just a 4' x 8' wood frame with a pond liner. Im gonna install a bulkhead in the bottom and use my wet/dry thats on my 125 for filtration. My rays should have plnty of growing room and now i can use the 125 for something else.

Just my opinion, bulkheads and a wood tank don't sound like a good combo. Wouldn't the wood have a tenancy to leak at a bulkhead as wood is softer than glass or acrylic?

Here it is...ill admit it isnt pretty but my stingrays are going to get huge in it. The bulkhead leaked just like mwood said it would, so i ended up using my CPR overflow on the side. Im planning on adding some sort of lid to it to prevent evaporation other than that it is what it is.....which will hopefully be a stingray paradise.

Mmmmm stingray pups......

;)

Heres some pics.

Its in my moms basement, i need to get it covered before the humidity starts to rot the house. Its always been damp but i got a feeling with this much water its gonna be drippin'.

It just a 2x4 frame with 4x4 posts. Then 2 x 12's for the sides all screwed together so i can move it when i buy a house.

Yeah ... I'm sure assembling that was fun. Sorry I missed out !

:p

(I was there to help him buy the components ... however)

Better get mom a dehumidifier or two. That's a bunch of evaporation in an already damp environment. MOLD!

Its gonna be getting a glass lid sometime this week. That should keep the evaporation down quite a bit. The duhumidifiers would just continuously run and suck the water from the pond into the drain. From the looks of it it evaporates about 15 gallons a week. The lid should help that alot.....hopefully. Besides its only gonna be down there till this fall when i can buy my own house.
