Lookey what I found!

Finally laid my peepers on a naoko wrasse today. At 99.00 I couldn't pass it up. Probably one of the most expensive fish I've ever bought. I posted this in the reef fish section, but figured I'd let you guys take a gander at him.

He's currently hanging out in QT, so once he makes it to the DT I'll post some more pics.

Pretty pumped man. It's actually my first rare fish.

I'm having second thoughts about keeping him in QT. I've read some horror stories about fairy wrasses in QT.

Opinions?

It's on it's last leg dude. It's still kicking, but not taking food and just a shell of its formal self. I don't have the heart to take it out of the tank. I'm still holding out hope that it will recover, but truthfully every morning I'm shocked it's still there.

Maybe one day I'll get another.

In addition to the Noako, I got a monti cap, a hammer and a frog spawn.

Its on my to do list today. I have the QT covered with a couple of bucket lids. Ghetto but works for now.

I did notice today that he has some fin fraying going on.

It might be from stress and some malnutrition. So I think I'm going to make some puréed medley of grocery store sea food for him.

I fed him some mysis today and he gobbled it up, so that's a good sign. Time to make up some more.

Unfortunately, I found it laying on its side dead at the bottom of the QT today. Not sure what happened. It was eating and everything.
