Hey guys, i'm planning on making one of those hang on AC 110 converted fuges. So does anyone have an aquaclear 110 used filter? and how about a lighting rig to grow the macro in the back. Does anyone have any spare miracle mud???
let me know

They have me pumped on adding one of these to my 20, as well. I don't recall... We're there any interior mods to the AC 110 that had to be done?

Honestly i don't really know, just take a look inside of one at a store, and it looks just like a fuge, maybe leave the left side of the basket attached, maybe build a minor retaining wall on the left side, maybe put some sort of gutter gard over the output so no cheato accidentally gets in the tank... i was considering doing mangroves. and that really seems like about it... I was then thinking about doing something with the lid and building a hood light into the lid... so it snapped on.

Well the i guess getting one of these things used, just isn't going to happen. LOL they would probably be at a premium.

incase you guys were wondering the have a 500 gph flow rate adjustable down as low as 166 GPH the dimensions are 13.5 in long, and 4in hanging off the back, maybe 7in tall.

Whats better for fuges high flow or low flow???

A couple things people do with them are siliconing acrylic baffles or just using one side of the stock basket. You can also cut off some of the blades from the impeller, which will reduce the flow quite a bit (just make sure to cut them evenly to avoid throwing it off balance).

A light that works well on them is the coralife 2x9w fixture.

you want lower flow for your fuge. And whens the next time you'll be down here Grant? If you wanna stop by next time i can show you how i did mine. Its basically like joey said, except i didnt even bother siliconing anything down. I just got a piece of egg crate and stuck it in front of the outlet part and it stops stuff from flowing out into the tank (as far as chaeto or whatever else goes that is). With the 110 it should be a bit easier than what i did w/the 70...altho they're the same thing just different size. Idk...you got more room to work with for one.

But to answer storagedaddie's question...no there's really not any interior mods that have to be done....pretty straight forward.
