Looking for a Oxynoe viridis (caulerpa eating sea slug)

Hey anyone know where I can find a caulerpa eating sea slug ? I cant find one anywhere and I need one to rid my tank of a grape caulerpa infestation !


Anyone know of another invert that would do the job ? I really need to eradicate this from my display !

I have a sea hare that i got like a couple days ago and the few pieces of caulerpa i had in my tank stuck to rocks is now gone, so i'm assuming it ate it.

Oxynoe is not sold commercially. It's quite small & is only found as a hitchhiker.

Yeah I figured that was the case . I was hoping someone who got one as a hitchhiker would post up . If I dont do something soon I am gonna have a caulerpa forest .

As the other poster said. get a seahare.... He rid my 100lbs of TBS rock with caulerpa in a couple of days... plus once gone he will eat other algae of your rocks. 24/7... and once rocks are cleaned you can supplement with nori.

Really? Thats sounds good ! Do you know which seahare you got ? Scientific name ? I know there are two diffwerent types , maybe more .

I have 2 that I got from www.reefermadness.us

They have an awesome appetite, and are doing a great job on hair algae. I don't know what they will do with your algae, but they don't seem to be very picky eaters....Think I'll name them Mikey I and Mikey II.
